| Mao Zedong uses a persons words as two lines in his poetry, and only Confucius enjoyed such privilege. Mao Zedongs learning of culture begins with his reading of Confucius books. For some Confucius thoughts, such as the thought of attaching importance to learning, the thought of “being swift in action”, Mao Zedong sticks to them all his life. For some Confucius thoughts, such as the thought of the relationship between the monarch and the people, and the doctrine of the mean thought, Mao Zedong makes his own choices. For some Confucius thoughts, such as the thought of the contempt for labor, the thought “the demos can be educated to know what and how to do but not to know why they should do so”, Mao Zedong criticizes them all his life. |
