| The opera Diaoyu Castle dramatizes a story of Song Dynasty with Xiong Er, the wife of the Mongolian general as the heroine. The dramatic conflicts and climax reveal the themes of “love and hatred”, “reputation and devotion”, “revenge and compromise”, and “war and peace”. By the brand-new characterization of the heroine are epitomized the realistic themes of “priority of human beings”, “priority of collective interest” and “national renewal”. |
