| 欧阳修在至和至治平年间居京为官十四年，以其为中心相与交游者一般为道德、文学之士，他们雅集交游、诗酒唱和，既有文学层面的交流，亦有政治时事、人物品评、经典诠释、儒释道关系等的议论，从而形成一个开放的交游圈。欧阳修及其交游圈中士大夫们的道德、文章为宋学第二阶段道德性命之理的张扬奠定了基础，他对士人仕途上的提携、帮助，更是有助于宋学第二阶段的学人在政治上崭露头角，实践儒学的经世致用功能以及宣扬他们的宋学思想。 |

| Ouyang Xiu had been an official in the capital for fourteen years, and his friends were those of noble-moral and excellent-literary talent. They were fond of drinking and reciting poems; meanwhile they discussed lots of affairs such as literature, politics, judging person, explaining classics, and so on. Thus, there was an opening circle of friends. Noble-moral and excellent-literary talent of Ouyang Xiu and his friends established a foundation for Song Xue’s development. What more, Ouyang Xiu helped many foremost exponents of Song Xue, which had contributed to their promotions and realizing their ideals. |
