| As one of the representatives of modern new Confucianism, Zhang Junmai’s most featured thought is his “modified democracy”. This paper suggests that Zhang Junmai’s thought is proper in the specific historical background, but there are many deficiencies in his academic principle, especially in the relationship between freedom and power, politics and economy, and politics and culture. Because of his cultural conservatism, many expressions and the train of thought are worth discussing. |
