Abstract:Mao Zedong made enormous contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, which was pioneering and foundational. These were highlighted in three ways as follows: (1) He set up the revolutionary road and the theory of the new democratic revolution, helping the Chinese people to achieve the national independence and their emancipation, and opening a new era of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation; (2) He pioneered the socialist revolutionary road suitable for Chinas national condition, changing the Chinese society from the new democracy to socialism, and providing political premise and institutional foundation for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation; (3) After the socialism system had been established in China, Mao Zedong exerted his utmost effort to pursue the road of socialist construction, different from the Soviet whereas suitable for Chinas national condition. Despite many twists and turns in exploration of socialist construction, the originally theories and the tremendous progress achieved by the Chinese Communist Party provided valuable experience, theoretical preparation and material basis for building socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new period.
