Abstract:The Chaoyang Rock Collection,compiled by Huang Zhuo in the Jiajing years of the Ming Dynasty,is the pioneer and unique extent collection which records poetic prose inscription of the Chaoyang rock of Lingling.It is also the prior monograph which records the caves landscape and cliffside inscriptions in ancient China.Huang Zhuo,whose courtesy name was Zizhao,and self-titled Long’jin’zi,a native of Yanping,Nanping,?was the Yongzhou magistrate in the Jiajing years.The extent Chaoyang Rock Collection was Huang’s block-printed edition of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty.It was one copy of silk-bound book,and the contents include seven parts:mottos,prose,records,poems,songs,ravel notes,additions.The book first collected by Sun Yuxiu,and then kept by National Library of Beiping.It was the only extant copy of a rare book in China,so it was precious.There are 14 poems,which start from the Song Dynasty’s Liu Yingchen’s works in the book,and it cannot find in the Chaoyang Rock carvings,collection,neither local chronicles.Furthermore,there is one poem from Guo Zhaofu of the Song Dynasty,has complete intact contents and can supply the loss of the extent cliffside inscriptions.
