The translation purpose of religious culture elements in literary works is to reproduce foreign customs and beliefs,convey related knowledge of religious culture and to facilitate readers of target language to deeply understand cultural connotations.Religious culture is characterized by complexity,concealment,nationality and specialty.When translating,the translator should follow the principles as follows: the translation should retain the original religious culture,differentiate the major from the minor,balance the content and the form,and pay attention to the details,so that the translation could accurately,comprehensively and deeply reveal the cultural connotations of the original.
