Abstract:There are strokes of crossed cross and vertical in the Chinese characters chou(丑), guan(贯), zai(再), li(里), dan(单) and xun(讯). The investigation shows that people are used to writing cross before vertical when cross and vertical are crossed. But among the above Chinese characters, only dan(单) and xun(讯)s stroke order is consistent with peoples habit in the Normalization of Stroke Order of Modern Chinese Generic Characters promulgated by the government in 1997. It deems that rules in writing procedures should respect most peoples habit and the stroke order of crossed cross and vertical of chou(丑), guan(贯), zai(再), li(里) should be changed to cross before vertical when cross and vertical are crossed.
