Abstract:The process of language acquisition is in essence the process of the language input and output, and its quality directly affects the success of it. In viewing of this, the paper, by taking the English major sophomores from five universities in Hunan Province as the research objects, first investigates and describes the current situation of their language input and output and also the existing problems, and then further analyzes the factors causing the ineffective learning and teaching. This paper holds that the text structure theory applied in English teaching and learning can to some extent change the teacher-centered teaching mode, benefit the cultivation of the students thinking ability and innovation ability, and promote the quality and quantity of the students language input and output outside the classroom.
