Abstract:After a brief introduction about relevance and adaptation theory, cross-cultural communicative intention and its characteristics, this paper discusses that the dynamic activation of cross-cultural communicative intention is based on such factors as mutural cooperation and adaptation, the exploitation of the ostensive-inferential model, the recongnitive construction of related contextual factors, and the dynamic expansion and extention of communicator s cultural schema. It also attempts to build up the pragmatic analytic model of dynamic activation of cross-cultural communicative intention.
