Abstract:Wang Kaiyun’s Interpretation of the Songs of Chu interprets The Songs of Chu from the perspective of currently political affairs, focusing on the three importantly political affairs, namely Qu Yuan’s expectation of flourishing the State of Chu, the measures of recommending talents and the accusation of doing harm to the country. There is an implied political meaning between the lines of his interpretations, and it is also marked by the innovative ideas, which has a far-reaching influence on his disciple Liao Ping. In the history of the research of The Songs of Chu, Wang Kaiyun led a trend of absorbing different ideas and questioning the traditional views, and thus contributed to the innovation of its study.
