| The artistic features of the fusion of Ci and prose techniques are reflected in Chen Wei-songs poetry in the following five aspects: (a) frequent use of Fu, occasionally that of the prose composition; (b) argumentative reasoning; (c) the importing words from Ci into poetry; (d) the artistic vision of Ci and Bixing techniques; and (e) a gloomy and vigorous artistic style. Three reasons can explain the formation of artistic features in Chen Wei songs poems. Firstly, it is driven by the poets self conditions; secondly, it is for the purpose of exploring new path for poetry at that aesthetic anomie period; thirdly, it is influenced and inspired by the thoughts of following the masters of the Song Dynasty in the early Qing Dynasty. |
